I’m a lifelong writer and an Orthodox Christian since 1990.

Since my conversion from an idiosyncratic version of generic Protestantism, I’ve come to understand the line in the Psalm that says, “You have set my feet on a wide place.”

The structure of the Church — its history, its hierarchy, and its arguing theologians — has given me the freedom to listen in a new way to the non-Orthodox voices around me. I find wisdom in places I might not expect it.

But what’s true is what’s true, and I don’t have to be afraid to listen.

These posts will be an exploration of my discoveries.
